The Subaru Outback is built for the weekend getaway.
Sporting a renowned SUBARU BOXER engine and the confidence-inspiring Subaru symmetrical full-time AWD, this versatile crossover is a fun and fuel efficient way to go... anywhere. The 2.5i is extremely well equipped right out the gate, with desirable features like standard heated front seats, power driver's seat, 16-inch alloy wheels and SIRIUS® Satellite Radio. An upgrade Limited Package adds luxurious leather, dark tinted privacy glass and 17-inch alloy wheels, while the 3.0R Premier also comes with a DVD-based navigation system. The Outback PZEV Plus is packed with a wealth of sought-after features and boasts advanced eco-friendly technology that reduces smog-forming emissions to virtually zero without any compromise in performance, convenience or value. Outback? Outstanding.

Exterior

A Marriage of Extremes.
If the word "crossover" was in the dictionary, a picture of the Subaru Outback would be right there beside the definition. With its raised ride height and sheer rugged good looks, this purebred crossover definitely suits the part. But other exterior features speak to the undeniable sophistication of this particular crossover: the available privacy glass, the side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, the halogen fog lights and twin-panel moonroof. You might call the Outback an example of either tough sophistication or sophisticated toughness.

Exterior Highlights

Fog Lights

The multi-reflector halogen fog lights are designed to cut through murky conditions and reveal the road ahead, enhancing both driver confidence and safety.

Side Mirrors

Another safety feature: heated side mirrors that melt away snow, slush and ice. These power mirrors also fold inwards to guard against damage and feature integrated LED turn signals on some models.

Moonroof

The available twin-panel power moonroof slides to boost your vitamin D intake or tilts to promote greater air circulation in the cabin.

Splash Guards

The standard splash guards serve to prevent snow and slush from building up in the wheel wells, keeping your Outback looking and running its best in all weather conditions.

Interior

100% Compromise-free.
The Subaru Outback is tough as nails on the outside, yet incredibly refined on the inside. The cabin is filled with desirable features and high-grade materials designed to transport you and your passengers in comfort and style. The sweeping, wing-shaped dashboard is enhanced with titanium-style or woodgrain trim. The seats, covered in either premium fabric or luxurious leather, provide support and reduce fatigue on those long, adventurous road trips. The interior boasts comfortable seating for five adults and up to 2768L of useable space. To complete the picture: standard heated front seats, an available twin-panel moonroof, an available Harman Kardon speaker package and a surprisingly quiet ride. (Compromise is so five minutes ago.)

Safety

Safe and Sound.
Some things should never be left to chance - especially the safety of you and your passengers. That's why every Subaru is designed to meet the very highest standards for crash worthiness. Active safety systems - such as Subaru symmetrical full-time AWD and Vehicle Dynamics Control system - give the driver the tools needed to avoid an accident at all costs. Large windows and the optimal placement of pillars also contribute by ensuring superior visibility. In the event that an accident is unavoidable, passive safety features like the Subaru advanced ring-shaped reinforcement frame provide much-needed layers of protection. Net results: top-notch crash-test ratings* across the board for the Subaru Legacy and a more reassuring driving experience for you.

Safety Highlights

Advanced Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame

The essentials: a uniform, interconnected energy-absorbing safety cell comprised of the roof, door beams, window pillars and floor. This cell envelops the entire passenger cabin, thereby helping to dissipate impact energy from all directions.

Airbags

Front-seat airbags. Front-seat side-impact airbags. Side curtain airbags. All standard, all designed to offer superior occupant protection when it's needed most.

Seatbelts

The seatbelts on the Subaru Outback have been meticulously designed to guard against injury. The front seatbelts feature pretensioners to hold you in place and load limiters to ease impact on the occupant in the event of a collision.

Head Restraints

Subaru was one of the first manufacturers to introduce front-seat active head restraints. These restraints automatically move forward in a rear-end collision to reduce shock to the head and neck.

Child Safety

As befits a manufacturer with a stellar reputation for safety, every Subaru comes standard with the ISO-FIX/LATCH child seat anchor system with three-point seatbelts for the rear seats.

Vehicle Dynamics Control

The Vehicle Dynamics Control system employs a network of sensors to detect when a loss of control is imminent, then make precise adjustments - altering AWD torque split, applying brake pressure to individual wheels and controlling engine power output - to restore stability.

Utility

Features for the Road Ahead.
Despite its sporty appearance and significant performance attributes, the Subaru Outback is - first, last and always - an honest-to-goodness crossover. The Outback boasts a surprising amount of storage space (more than many other crossovers or SUVs), excellent towing capabilities (up to 1360 kg when properly equipped) and a standard roof rail system. Also standard: 60/40-split rear seats, doors that are designed for easy entrances and exits, and a cargo area with a low lift-over height to help ease loading of heavier items. (This is the real deal.)

Utility Highlights

Cargo Cover and Tray

These available options are perfectly suited to protecting the rear storage area from damage and guarding your valuables from unwelcome attention.

Roof Rails and Crossbars

Expand your cargo carrying capacity with these standard roof rails and available cross bars, which can be adapted to hold bicycles, skis, kayaks and storage containers.

60/40-Split Folding Rear Seats

With these seats folded down, storage space in the Subaru Outback balloons from 847 L to 1851 L. This convenient feature makes transporting skis, golf clubs or antique discoveries a snap.

12V Power Outlet

Designed to accommodate everything from stadium tailgate parties to wilderness excursions, this power outlet is conveniently located close to the rear hatch.
